The Details

Tasting Note Pale straw with green-gold tints. Fragrant citrus blossom and lime zest with hints of lemongrass and bath salts. Fine, elegant restraint and drive of natural acidity through the length of the palate. Flavours of citrus curd, fresh lemon and lime zest, perfectly in balance with the refreshing slatey texture, linger on the finish.
Best Enjoyed With Enjoy with Asian spiced shredded chicken salad or a green mango and crisp noodle salad
Treatment We ensure each vintage is of consistently high quality. Grapes are picked in the cool of the night, with gentle handling of the free-run juice to retain maximum fruit aromatics. The juice is fermented at cool temperatures using aromatic yeasts to maintain fruit purity and freshness in the final wine.

A lovely meeting place between ripeness and tension
Lemon pith and orange blossoms mix with wet stone aromas on the nose. With air, wafts of limes emerge too: it's a medley of citrus fruit. The palate is composed, a lovely meeting place between ripeness and tension. It's very well made and is drinking beautifully in its youth but has intensity and staying power to be cellared.

Lively and perfectly poised
How is it possible that such deliciousness is still circa $20 a bottle? Between this Heggies Vineyard Riesling 2022 and the Pewsey Vale last week, there is enough evidence to suggest a)you should drink more Australian dry Riesling b)so should everyone else. The cool year is imprinted here. Celery and grapefruit crunch, yet the palate has this lovely lemongrass citrus generosity that really carries it. Maybe not wildly intense, but man, this is lively and perfectly poised. Yum. Best drinking: now or in a decade. I’d just go now. 18/20, 93/100. 11.5%, $26. Heggies Vineyard website. Would I buy it? Shit yes. In 15 seconds of Googling, I found it for sub $20, including delivery!

Long and super refreshing
Damn. For the love of Riesling! I've only reviewed three Heggies Rieslings over the years and this is by far the best. Riesling is one of the best value varieties available and I suspect you'll find this cheaper in retail land. And if you do, jump on it. Pretty scents of bath powder and little white flowers throw out the welcome mat - just beautiful! Lemons tease as they swim about with ease. A hint of tart green apple floats about with a minerally drive pinned to the core. A mouth perfume headed by musk keeps the attractive features bowling along. Long and super refreshing with talc-like feels, find the ice bucket with some tempura prawns. Winning! Drink now.

Has promise!
A lighter style with lovely purity of citrus varietal fruit with a slight hint of tropics. Has promise!

Another fine release of this label
Very pale lemon/straw colour. Fresh lime juice and spiced lemongrass with depth and richness from brûlée, curd and talc. Everything in place. Neat as a pin with precise acidity balancing elegant fruit. Good persistence offering plenty of length to the palate. Another fine release of this label.
