The Details

Tasting Note The Nautilus Sauvignon Blanc displays intense lifted aromas of passionfruit and lime zest and hints of elderflower. The palate introduces delightful citrus based mouth-watering intensity and finishes with a strong textural component.
Best Enjoyed With Crunchy fish tacos with zesty yoghurt, lime and chive sauce.
Treatment The fruit was machine harvested at night or in the cool of the morning and immediately crushed and pressed. The juice was then fermented with a variety of aromatic yeast strains in stainless steel tanks to reflect and preserve the flavours and aromas grown in the vineyard. 7% of the juice was fermented with non-saccharomyces yeast and 2% was barrel fermented. After fermentation, the wine was kept in contact with the lees for five months.

The Story

The natural beauty and mathematical precision of the nautilus shell has been our inspiration to create expressive, textural, precisely crafted wines at Nautilus Estate since 1985. Back in those days there were around 80 wineries in New Zealand. Today there are over 500, yet we remain under the same family ownership, committed to making wines from the stunningly beautiful Marlborough region of New Zealand.

Bright, elegant sauvignon with passionfruit, guava, grapefruit, struck-flint and green capsicum flavours. Appealing purity and an ethereal texture with a crisp, dry finish.

Floral, fruity, ripe, varietal and tantalising bouquet. Flavours of mango and passionfruit, crunchy red apple and grapefruit then fresh herbs and peppery fruits spices. Crunchy mouthfeel with high acidity contrasted by a core of fruit. Balanced, youthful and ready. Best from today and through 2024+
