Jansz x Riedel Tasting Event with Maximilian Riedel on glorious Sydney Harbour

Jansz Tasmania X Riedel

An exciting new collaboration is coming soon between Jansz Tasmania and RIEDEL

Jansz Tasmania pioneered premium sparkling winemaking in Australia, the first sparkling wine house to produce a vintage sparkling wine using the Traditional Méthode. At Jansz Tasmania we have coined this term ‘Méthode Tasmanoise, a term that goes beyond just winemaking to encapsulate our Tasmanian way of life and our respect for our environment.

It is only fitting that we have partnered with world renowned luxury glassmaker RIEDEL in the pursuit to find the perfect glass to experience our Jansz Tasmania wines globally.

Recently, 11th generation Maximilian Riedel guided a diverse group of industry leaders through a sensory tasting to discover the perfect Tasmanian sparkling wine glass.

February 1, 2023

We quickly eliminated three glasses from a total of 12 that had previously been shortlisted by Maximilian Riedel on 23 December 2022. We then eliminated another three in seeking the perfect glass in which to experience our Jansz Tasmania wines. It became extremely difficult to compare the final six, pulling on all our senses. We collectively landed on three luxurious glasses that all elevated the Jansz Tasmania wine experience. All three highlighted the balance of our wines, expressing the purity of our fruit and complexity from lees ageing, with an iconic refreshing acidity on the finish.

The final three glasses had a more superior balance on the nose and palate. They highlighted our house style of elegance, delicacy and finesse. Lifted aromatics quintessential to Jansz Tasmania wines shone in the final tasting with white blossom, citrus, sea spray and toast, while the palate exuded a beautifully creamy mousse yet still expressing the zingy acidity that gives length and backbone to well-defined flavours on the palate.

We are now taking some time to choose a single glass from the three favourites and can’t wait to share our journey with you.

Which glass will it be?
