Accolades

Seamless, with very fine tannins
As with the Shiraz, the wine sees a blend of French and American oak, and again, from a superb vintage. This is fine example of what Cabernet can do in a warmer region like the Barossa in a good vintage. The colour is a deep but vibrant purple, while the nose gives us notes of cigar boxes, tobacco leaves, mushrooms, black fruits, aniseed and dry herbs. There is good concentration here, in a ripe, bold style of warm climate Cab. The palate sees a sweet core of mocha, cassis, vanilla and chocolate and this lifts the wine to a new level. Seamless, with very fine tannins and impressive distance. Drink now and for six to eight years.

Great value
Mid-crimson in the glass with aromas of blackberry, plum conserve, spice, mocha, violets, undergrowth and softly spoken oak and herb nuances. It's a mid-weight cabernet with a slight savoury lean on the palate with tight, sandy tannins, some smoky, meaty notes and a nice chalky texture and black-fruited plume on the exit. Great value.
