About Ringbolt

Born from the Wilyabrup sub-region, Ringbolt is a celebration of Margaret River’s distinctive terroir. Our wines are crafted to showcase the deep connection between the land, climate, and the unique maritime influence of this remarkable area.

Our signature Cabernet Sauvignon debuted in 2001 and has since become a beloved expression of the region around the word, earning awards both nationally and internationally. Ringbolt wines are respected for their balance, complexity, and depth, all thanks to the passion of our winemaker Heather Fraser, who ensures every bottle captures both the unique vintage and the region's character.

In 2023, we proudly introduced our Chardonnay, a result of a long-standing relationship with trusted growers. This wine highlights the elegance and complexity that Margaret River’s climate is known for, crafted from the Gingin and Dijon Clone 95 clones.

Winemaker – Heather Fraser

With a commitment to excellence, Heather Fraser brings her extensive knowledge and expertise to every bottle. Each wine is crafted with the aim of expressing the true nature of the region, using the finest fruit from trusted local growers.

Cabernet Sauvignon

A bold and structured wine, our Cabernet Sauvignon is a deep reflection of the Wilyabrup terroir, showing fresh berry fruits, mocha and spiced oak. Maturation in American oak adds complexity, ensuring a wine with age potential of 8-10 years.

Reviews:

“Ring Bolt cabernet sauvignon 2022 ($30) – note released globally and not available in Australia until later in the year. With the challenges of the ’21 vintage behind it, this excellent value for money Margaret River cabernet from the subregion of Wilyabrup is right back in form. It was a very good vintage for red wine and this one, which displays excellent structure and balance is a terrific example. Rich black fruits and a dollop of chocolate with that slightly saline minerality and subtle black olive adding complex nuances. One of the very best I have tasted in this line. Score: 94/100 Cellar: 10 years”

Chardonnay

The 2023 Chardonnay offers fresh aromas of peach, nectarine, and cashews, with a mineral finish. The combination of Gingin and Dijon Clone 95 offers depth and elegance, reflecting the full potential of Margaret River’s diverse soils.

The Wilyabrup Sub-Region

Ringbolt’s vineyards are located in the renowned Wilyabrup sub-region, known for its ironstone gravel, red-brown loams, and sandy loams, all of which promote excellent drainage and allow a greater concentration of fruit. The cooling sea breezes ensure a slow and even ripening process, producing wines that are elegant and balanced, with rich, complex flavours.

Terroir and Soil

Our vineyards benefit from the varied soils of Margaret River. The Cabernet Sauvignon vineyards feature laterite gravel for excellent drainage and a north-south orientation for optimal sunlight exposure. The Chardonnay vineyards sit on shallow sand over laterite gravel soil, providing a balanced canopy for optimal grape development.
