When an opium-farming Scotsman was granted land in 1822, no one could have predicted that almost 200 years later Tasmania would have gained an international reputation for producing premium wines.
Winter rainfall in Eden Valley totalled 274.8mm, 5% below average. However, rainfall across the region was quite sporadic, with other vineyards only recording 230-250mm.
The 2021 growing season was strongly influenced by the La Nina weather pattern, which in general produces cooler and slightly more humid conditions in Tasmania.
